Friends, today I’m back with a funny yet morally valued real-life story that happened 28 years back, during my college days. I was doing my diploma course in Women’s Polytechnic, Nedupuzha in Thrissur district. I was staying in the hostel because my home was in Vadakkencherry which is in Palakkad district.
During our Christmas holidays, we students all went homes. During those holidays, I could hear the calling bell ringing one day morning. I and my mummy were there at home. I was so surprised when I opened the door. My dearest friend and my hostel mate Aswathi was in front of me. There was a young and good-looking man with her carrying a bag.
To be frank, I and my mummy were doubtful of seeing them together. By seeing our suspicious faces, that man told us that “I came down to drop her in your home. She came by my auto-rickshaw and she was unaware of this place. So, I thought of dropping her safely.” We both were relieved then.
What happened was, our college postponed the vacations for few more days unexpectedly. Aswathi didn’t know about it. When she reached college, she got to know about it. Her home is in Changanacherry. Traveling back for few days was difficult for her. So it was her idea to come to my home, though she hasn’t come earlier. She took her father’s permission and came then. She was just aware of the place where we live, my parent’s names, jobs, etc. So after reaching Vadakkencherry, she took an auto and said these details to the auto driver and he accompanied her to make sure if she reached the right place.
We still recall these memories. You may think, what’s so special in it. But, it happened 28 years back and there were no Google assistants or maps to help. Even a land phone was not there in my house those times.
I just wanted to say 3 things when I remember this incident. One is her brave to go to an unknown place. I appreciate it so much. The second thing is her father’s trust and confidence in his daughter. I value it very much. Third thing is that auto-rickshaw driver. I still respect that man’s humanity shown towards her.
It is not because of his high education or high profile job that made him do that. Good lessons taught by his parents or the situations through which he was brought up or his heredity made him do that. We all have the tendency to judge people based on their social status, high profile job, or education. Good and bad people are among all categories. The main point is to recognize good and bad. That auto driver taught me this great lesson. And I am sharing it with you too.
Hope you liked my video. Hoping to come back with new videos again. Until then take care.
