Do you Allow your Kids in Choosing their Favourite Course/Career? My thoughts...

We parents are so possessive about our kids as we dream a lot about their future, career, etc. But, is it the right thing to push our kids to fulfill our dreams? Do we value their interests or passion? No, many of us don’t do that.

Today I would like to speak a few words about choosing the right course and career for a student. Each kid is with different talents. Their tastes differ in many ways. Some may be with the right brain and others with the left brain. Accordingly, their study habits differ. We parents should understand the capabilities of our kids and properly support them to pursue their careers. We should never insist, they go for a particular course of our choice.

If a student takes a course of his/her interest, they can perform in it. If it’s of their parents’ interest, they cannot. Parents can understand their kids’ passions, likes, abilities, etc. from their childhood itself. If they can do so, such parents can guide their kids in choosing their careers. But, unfortunately, we all chase behind some renowned courses only. And these may not be of our kids’ interest. And they will have to sacrifice their lifetime with an unsatisfied job. Instead, just think, if they are in an interesting field of profession, they can love their job, enjoy their job and live peacefully. Kids are not the tools to fulfill their parents’ wishes. They have their passions to chase. So let all parents support their kids to do the same.
