In our quest for the best pool villa out there, today, we headed towards Xandari Pearl, a pool villa resort in Marari beach. We were a little skeptical at first since we haven’t heard much about this. But our friend Jiby, through whom we have booked this, ensured us that this is one fo the most liked property by tourists in Marari.
It took us around 1hour 15 minutes reach there. We started from our home in kochi near Vyttila at around 12.00. From Vyttila you have to take the NH 66 towards Alapuzha and then after Kanjikuzhi take a right turn towards Marari beach road. When we reach there, first thing we noticed was the shape of the entire property. Be it the reception or the restaurant or your room, everything is in a different shape. It was neither round nor oval, so we asked the manager about it and he said it is the shape of the shell of the pearl. In his words ” Every gust here is a pearl and he is safe and secure like a pearl in side that shell” now that was really nice concept.

We reach there around 1.15 so we where hungry and after completing the check in formalities headed towards the restaurant. On the way we saw the pond and the boating facilities available. You can also do angling there but on one condition, you have to eat the fish you catch since they won’t release it back. We saw different verities of fish there. On another day I would have happily spent the entire day there as this is my favourite hobby. But today we are here to experience the pool villa. In the restaurant we were greeted with a mouth watering thali meals with delicious Alapy fish curry. I must say through out the entire stay the food here was one of the best. Be it veg or non veg, and even the desserts.
After finishing the Lunch we went to see our pool villa. This was a well maintained property with two types of Villas. One is Blue Pearl ,with the pool, and the other is Green Pearl ,with out the pool. The room was very different from what we have experienced so far. This was the first room with out a TV and believe me you won’t even notice it. Everything was in perfect position. This is one of those type of rooms which either you love it or hate it but there is no in between. We both liked it very much but we are here for the pool so we went straight to the pool.
This was one of the most beautiful pool we have ever experienced. This was not the biggest but it was nearly the perfect for out family. The water was a bit warm through out, even early morning and night. Our little Aryan was not ready to leave the pool at any time, even at night he was crying to go there.
There was a private beach but Aryan is afraid of beaches. So I guess I have to go there alone to take some visuals. This was not a large one but you can spend some quality time with your loved ones.
Resort is having a vegetable garden where they are producing almost all the vegetables for the restaurant. their garden tour will be a memorable one for the foreign tourists. The person in charge of this was a master. He even showed us how to plant a banana tree to get the fruit in your desired direction.
Next day we spent some quality time in the pool before leaving…. Well if you ask me if this was the perfect pool villa for us then the answer is it was almost there. Our quest for the perfect pool villa will continue.
