It is the complaint of most of the parents that their kids are addicted to games. And they try to advise them, scold them and so on. This video goes through some nostalgic childhood games which were not addictive and gives some information/advice to parents of this era, based on real life experiences. The summary of this video is that parents should allow kids to play games at home for some time.
Why should parents allow kids to play video games at home?
Susan says its reason from her personal experience. Whenever she goes for a walk, she used to see a group of teen aged boys, playing online games on the road side. They spend long hours playing there. When see this, she always wonders what will be the excuses, these kids would have told their parents? May be special class, tuition, combine study or more? So it would be better to allow them to play games right? Or else, kids of this age will go out and do without parents’ knowledge. And these friendships may lead to many other bad habits too.
What are the things parents should be aware of?
When we allow kids to play games at home, always be alert that they should never be addicted to any games. And try to avoid task giving games. Finally, avoid more violent games, even though most of the games are of that sort. Because such games have a major role in kid’s character formation too.
Own Story
Susan ends the video by saying her real experience in life. When her son was in 8th standard, he too used to play games. Gradually he got addicted to it and she had to uninstall the game from phone. Even though he was too irritated for 1 week, gradually he realized the game’s disadvantages and admitted that it was good that she uninstalled it. Still he plays some teeny games, without any addiction. Finally Susan advices all kids not to play games for long hours at home and trouble their parents.
