Construction technologies are evolving! Interlocking bricks, the enhanced form of conventional clay bricks are the latest advancement in the construction industry. Each interlocking brick is constructively designed to lock itself to the other bricks around without using mortar. The self-locking is secured using Shear-key and lock mechanism. The shape of the shear-key will vary according to design. A complimentary lock is provided on the opposite side of the brick.
Interlocking bricks load transfer is achieved by shear transfer and gravity & they are proven as earthquake-resistant construction materials. The seismic forces of the earthquake travel across the whole structure equivalently due to the self-locking pattern of the bricks.
