Snow Park in Athirapally - Waterfalls, Water Park

Athirapilly is the land of rivers and forests and great waterfalls. The destination houses the largest waterfall in Kerala, the Athirapilly waterfall, and is often referred to as the “Niagara Falls of India”.

We packed our bags to this 80 ft high and 330 ft wide marvel, the largest waterfall in Kerala. The highlight of our trip was definitely Silver Storm and Snow Storm Amusement Park. We enjoyed dry rides, water rides, snow, and of course the delicious food at the resort. Helicopter ride over the waterfall and lush greenery was an entirely new experience for us.

Athirapilly Waterfalls is the seat of extreme scenic beauty and tranquility. Located 60 km from the Thrissur district of Kerala, Athirapally Falls is a marvelous cascade of frothy waters that makes its way from the Anamudi Mountains of the Western Ghats.

It’s always good to carry an umbrella or a raincoat on your visit to Athirapilly waterfalls if you don’t want to get drenched in the showers. After enjoying to the fullest in Athirappilly, we decided to explore two more nearby waterfalls, Charpa and Vazhachal. En route Vazhachal Falls, we came across Charpa falls which were also a marvelous sight to watch.

Experience at Silver Strom Snow Park and Resort

We were in Silver Storm, Athirappilly, to celebrate my daughter, Keyara’s birthday. It was really a wonderful experience for me and my kids to enjoy the snowy environment with minus Degree Celsius in Snow Park. Enjoyed a beautiful time with my family in the Snow Park. There was also a shop inside the Snow Park offering hot coffee, tea, soups, etc. The main event in Keyara’s birthday celebration, CAKE CUTTING in a snowy atmosphere was really great and she loved it.

Then we headed towards the cafe region in the resort for dinner. We have dined with some tasty cuisines like Veg-fried rice, Mulakitta Chicken Curry, delicious Tawa fish fry and chapattis among which Mulakitta Chicken Curry was the real Superhero. Loved the taste!.

When Time For Real Amusement came!

The next day after having breakfast, we started our day with dry rides in Silver Strom like a giant wheel, striking car, butterfly park, dark and scary horror house as exclaimed by my kids!. Watching XD Cinema was really thrilling. We also enjoyed an amazing top view from the sky jet ride.

It was the perfect time for water rides since it started raining. Started with pedal boating, heading to Jurassic splash. Though I was a bit scared when we reached the top, the water splash was superb. Then I had some fun in a wave pool.

Helicopter Ride

As a part of Onam celebrations, the resort had arranged a special helicopter ride. Finally, it was the time for our most awaited helicopter ride. It was really a sight worth a short ride. The scenic aerial view of the waterfall was not only magnificent but also spectacular. Moreover, it was very beautiful to view the greenery from the top.
