Today I would like to share with you an inspirational/motivational topic – Comparison and its Consequences. Comparison is something which most of us do in our life knowingly or unknowingly. It can be based on colour, gender, smartness, exam scores, appearance, profession etc. We need to avoid it because there are some consequences which we never imagine.
Comparison starts from family and extends to social places like schools, colleges, offices etc. When we compare kids in a family, there develops a mental gap between these kids and it grows when they grow up. So, parents should never compare their kids and never allow others to compare them.
Normally in schools and colleges, comparison is based on exam scores. But teachers should encourage all kids equally. I’m sure that students who score less marks are always talented with so many other things. If we can find out their passion, they can surely succeed in life.
When it comes to my personal experience, my brother normally scored less marks than me. All my family members and others always compared us on this. It actually hurt him too much. But he had a strong passion, he had an enthusiasm to succeed in life and he won it. Now he runs two businesses of his passion successfully. So, it is my humble opinion that we should never compare anyone with others on the basis of marks.
We can see many news stories in newspapers about kids escaping from life during the time of exam results. They do the extreme step in life due to pressure. Parents and society have a main role in it. So, let’s please protect our kids from comparisons and stay with them as good parents always.
