Yeah, as the name says, our Munnar trip was really a thrilling experience to all of us. The unexpected accident we met with would have changed our lives in some other way, but the involvement of some good people helped us to avoid that accident. I believe those people were God’s messengers or I would love to call them as people with face of God.
As all children, my kids also were so keen to visit Munnar. Even though this place isn’t too far from our house, we had not taken them to Munnar yet. So we decided to go for a trip to Munnar in a Christmas vacation.
Our plan was to view Munnar in the daytime, come back to the resort and explore the resort the next day. So, as we had planned, we were heading back to the resort by night. It was Aanachal-Kunchithanni road. The condition of the road was too poor due to the flood in 2018.
There was a deep pit on the left side which we were not aware of. Some people from an opposite jeep were signalling us something. We didn’t understand what they were saying and my husband thought that it was for giving them way. So we tried to move the car a little more left and our vehicle got tilted a bit. We thought it would be some pothole.
But, those people rushed towards us and asked us to get out of the car immediately. And ordered my husband not to take his leg from the break and the car shouldn’t even move an inch forward. They were pulling the car towards the road by holding the doors. Meanwhile they arranged a thick rope.
Luckily a truck was travelling our opposite side. They tied the rope to the lorry and our car and still they were pulling the car to avoid it sliding down. So this truck and these people lifted the car to the road with husband inside. Still we were not much aware of the fact. Once all were left, some natives showed us the spot and then we realized its seriousness in the right sense.
Actually there was a culvert in that place. It has fallen down due to the flood in 2018. The concrete piece was still there in the pit. If the car would have moved further an inch, we all would have fallen into that pit. It was the involvement of those good people that saved our lives.
After placing some stones there, we headed to the resort as planned. While we were returning back the next day, we could see that spot in daylight and we were really shocked. Some natives and my husband called up the Panchayath president and ward member and informed them about this. There were no warning signs placed. We shot a video about this and shared it to some natives. They spread it through their local whatsapp groups and everyone came to know about it.
The natives promised us that they will update us on the progress. Within a few days, we got some pictures through Whatsapp. That pit was covered with mud to avoid any accidents in future. We were really glad to see it.
I am still wondering about the practical intelligence, logic and sincerity of the travelers and natives of that place. You know, how soon they solved such a big problem? That’s why I said, I love to call them people with the face of God.
We also may witness such kinds of situations in our life. So at least we must be able to inform the right ones rather than just watching it. I mean, we too can be the one with the face of God.Hope this can inspire and motivate you all to help others in their need.
